For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Lotus Emeya doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Ioniq 6 Limited has standard Parking Collision Avoidance Assist that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Emeya doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

Both the Ioniq 6 and the Emeya have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 has achieved the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest rating of “Top Safety Pick Plus” for the 2025 model year. This distinction is based on its exceptional performance in IIHS’ rigorous battery of safety tests. Specifically, it earned a “Good” rating in the latest, more stringent moderate overlap front crash test, a “Good” result in the updated side impact test, and a “Good” score in the revised pedestrian crash prevention test. The Emeya has not yet been evaluated by the IIHS for 2025.

The Ioniq 6 comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car. The Emeya’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 2 years or 24,000 miles sooner.

The Ioniq 6 comes with free roadside assistance for 5 years unlimited miles. Hyundai will send help if you run out of gas, need a jump-start, lock your keys in or need any assistance on the road. Lotus doesn’t give free roadside assistance for the Emeya.

Hyundai’s powertrain warranty covers the Ioniq 6 7 years and 64000 miles longer than Lotus covers the Emeya. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the Emeya ends after only 3 years or 36,000 miles.

Hyundai pays for scheduled maintenance on the Ioniq 6 for 3 years and 36,000 miles. Hyundai will pay for tire rotations, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Lotus doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Emeya.

There are over 22 times as many Hyundai dealers as there are Lotus dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Ioniq 6’s warranty.

The Ioniq 6 can travel longer on a full charge than the Emeya on a full charge:

The Ioniq 6 has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Emeya doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1050 to 1750 pounds less than the Lotus Emeya.

The Ioniq 6 is 11.2 inches shorter than the Emeya, making the Ioniq 6 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Ioniq 6’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The Emeya 4-Passenger doesn’t offer folding rear seats.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Ioniq 6 has standard extendable sun visors. The Emeya doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The Ioniq 6 is available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The Emeya doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
